We all understand what social media is.  With Metroecho we use social media to build community specific sites that provide marketing and sales tools for local products and services. Open sourced local sites like these have the potential to become the hub of local business activity. Operated by the open source collaboration of the community itself.

The basis of open source is that it is a collaborative effort between the user and the developer to create a better product. What it initially created was state of the art software for web development and networking. What it will become is the tool we will use for all future computer interaction... we will either know how to use it or we will be left out.  These local websites will help introduce this technology as well as provide services that improve local economies and build community.

Metroecho is the extension of this collaborative concept into a business model that uses community sites as a tool for business to disseminate information about, products, services and commercial development throughout a network of users.

Gather support and additional collaboration in your community. Help develop the future ideas on how to best monetize these concepts, to create employment opportunities, and provide technical education all through a network of technical providers and users.    

Community sites offer the following.

What will become of it is up to us,  how quickly we can build this network of communities, what products and services we will provide all this is in the hands of the future.
