THE PARTS WE SEE WHEN WE USE THIS SYSTEM, THE INTERFACE IS CALLED DRUPAL, SO WHAT IS IT?

Drupal is the connection and use of PHP language through a MySQL database, all running on an Apache Server. In other words a computer and database you can run from any device anywhere. This can be networked amongst many users, like a family, school classmates and teachers, co-workers, customers, or people within a community. All files, data, text, sound, pictures, video is called "content" and Drupal is the tool that administers this content. Permissions as to who can use or see it, how to account for it, where to store it and how to present the information all is handled with Drupal.
There is no other platform that is more friendly to users, or more advanced. Drupal can integrate with almost all other platforms like Google, Skype Facebook, and Windows.
The future... Every one in the "first world" will have their own Drupal site. They will control their own content, keeping what they choose private. Their personal web location will interact with the cloud of other sites they belong to, like friends, customers, banking, shopping, utilities, email, Facebook, etc.... One place to rule them all !
TRY NOT TO THINK OF DRUPAL AS A WEBSITE, INSTEAD THINK OF IT AS A PRIVATE PLACE WHERE YOU KEEP INFORMATION AND CONNECT TO OTHERS. THINK OF IT AS YOUR DESK FROM WHERE YOU CONNECT TO FAMILY FRIENDS, CUSTOMERS YOUR ONE STABLE UNCHANGING POINT OF CONNECTION. THINK OF IT AS THE PLACE WHERE ALL YOUR HISTORY IS KEPT.
HERE YOU HAVE A CONVERSATION THAT TOOK PLACE IN 2008. DRUPAL 6 HAD NOT COME OUT YET. THIS VIDEO GIVES SOME PERSPECTIVE OF HOW ADVANCED DRUPAL IS TODAY. DRUPAL 7 IS NOW OUT AND THERE ARE MODULES THAT DO MANY THINGS THAT WERE NOT EVEN THOUGHT OF IN 2008. I THINK THAT THERE IS NO LONGER ANY DEBATE THAT DRUPAL IS FAR MORE THAN A CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, IT IS A FRAMEWORK FOR DEVELOPING MAJOR APPLICATIONS.

This video gives some concept of what future implications of all this may have on the technology industry, In my opinion it will not be Google that will necessaryly come out on top but it will be Drupal and you since its open source, free, and can do the same thing and more. Its about data and who has controll of the data, hopfully its you!
